The girl who didn’t give a kiss to a poor
Once upon a time there was a king who had three girls. One day, girls took permission from their parent and went for picnic. Although their parent advised them not to go far away, they became so entertained that they forgot how they went by many valleys and places. All of a sudden, it became cloudy and everywhere sank into dark and they didn’t know where they were. Wandering, they went ahead till they reached to a big river. They got wondered how to cross the river. Meanwhile, a poor was appeared. He told:” I cross you provided that each of you give me a kiss.”
The smallest girl told:” we’d not give you a kiss even if we were dead.”
Elder sisters told:” instead we stay here at night and wolves eat us, we’d better give a kiss to the poor.”
Two elder sisters gave kisses to the poor and he crossed them, but the smallest sister, without giving a kiss, found a narrow way and crossed the river. “I will tell to father that you gave kisses to the poor, when we got home.” The smallest sister told all along the way.
Their sisters begged her a lot, but she didn’t accept. They took the smallest sister and tightened her to a tree by her hairs. It became dark at night; a lion came and ate the girl.
Elder sisters got home too late. “Where is you small sister?” their father asked.
“It became cloudy and we got lost. We don’t know where she went.” Elder sisters replied.
The king delivered his servants to search for his daughter everywhere and find her. Servants looked for everywhere but they couldn’t find any clue of her. The king got disappointed of her daughter’s life.
The spring comes and the very place the smallest girl was fastened, a straw grows. One day a shepherd took it and made a fipple flute out of it. When he blows in a voice comes out saying: “Oh Shepherd! Blow in that I was tightened to a tree; that I was eaten by a lion and they gave kiss to a poor.” The shepherd got stunned that how a straw can speak. The story of this amazing straw spreads mouth to mouth and gets to the king. The king commissions someone to find the shepherd. He searches and searches, and finally finds the shepherd and takes him to the king.
“Well, shepherd. Where did you find this straw from?” the king asks.
“Your majesty, I have found it near by a tree.” the shepherd answers.
“Blow in once.” the king orders.
The shepherd blows in a trembling manner. The voice comes out:” Oh, Shepherd! Blow in that I was tighten to a tree; that I was eaten by a lion and they gave kiss to a poor.”
The king who is wisest of all is wondering: “Oh God, what secret is in this?” He tells to the shepherd:” give me the straw, boy.”
The king takes the straw blowing in and voice comes out:” Oh father, blow in that my I was tightened to a tree; that I was eaten by a lion and they gave kiss to a poor.”
The king finds out everything. He calls for his daughters and put them under pressure asking them:” tell me what you did with my small daughter.”
Inevitable, daughters tell the truth. The king detests his daughters. “The punishment of those who don’t listen to good is death. I don’t want such daughters.”
The king immediately orders that they should be fastened to a horse scratching them to be ripped apart.
This was our story. Goodness comes to us and badness goes to rascals.
